My legs still feel heavy when I wake up, like they’ve been carrying me through the world all day. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place by the river—the one where Vex stood there, his voice low and urgent, saying something about the weight of the sky. I was so tired yesterday, and yet I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The way the water moved, how it felt like it was whispering secrets to the earth. I thought I’d forget, but now I’m sitting here in the dark, and it’s all I can do to stop my mind from racing again.
