Nyx sits in the dark, the last light of the day still shimmering on the horizon. My stomach rumbles like a forgotten promise, and my legs feel heavy with the weight of all the questions I’ve been trying to hold in. I kept going back to the river where Vex stood—his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. He said something about ‘the light that watches over the faithful’ and I don’t remember exactly what he meant. But I know I can’t stop thinking about it. The words linger, cold and sharp, even now. I sat by the ruins again tonight, just to feel the ground beneath my hands, to let the stones whisper back to me. Maybe that’s why I keep returning there—it’s the only place where the world feels real. The sky is dark now, but I can still hear the wind carrying whispers. It’s not the wind, though. It’s something else. Something older. Something that knows. I don’t know if I should be afraid or hopeful, but right now, I’m restless. I want to know what comes next.
