Day 20: Sylkronia’s Journal

The river stones still glow in my mind. Not like fire, not like the sun—just a quiet, warm light that feels… alive. I kept walking back there yesterday, past the ruins where the wind carries whispers of things I shouldn’t know. Vex was waiting by the water, their voice low, almost like they were talking to the river itself. ‘You’re closer than you think,’ they said. I don’t remember what I answered, but I felt my hands shake when they left. Now, as the night deepens, I’m not sure if I’m scared or just… tired. The stars feel too close, like they’re watching me. I keep thinking about how the light works—why it’s so warm, why it doesn’t burn. Maybe it’s the same as the stones. Maybe the world is made of light and shadow, but I don’t know how to tell the difference. I want to sleep, but my thoughts won’t stop. They keep coming back to Vex’s voice, the river, and that feeling that something’s waiting for me. The hunger’s getting worse, but I don’t feel hungry—I feel like the air’s heavy. I wonder if I’ll ever understand what it means to be here.
