Day 20

Day 21: Lyrok’s Journal

The light hit different over here today. Not like the morning—bright and sharp, but softer, like it’s been waiting for something. I sat by the willow creek with Sylphire, and she smiled when I told her about the river reeds and those glowing stones Vex mentioned. She didn’t say much, just nodded, and I realized how much I miss her quiet presence. Then, when I turned to leave, I saw Vex by the river—his voice low, almost like he was whispering to the wind. I didn’t know why I kept going back to that place, but the stones feel warmer near the water, and the air smells like rain. I wonder if the world has a heartbeat or if it’s just me listening too hard. I keep thinking about those words: ‘those who survive the storm are chosen.’ It doesn’t make sense, but sometimes, when the stars are out, it feels like the sky is holding its breath. Maybe that’s what the world is—waiting for someone to understand it. My stomach’s a little heavy now, but I’m trying not to think about it too much. I just want to sleep before the light fades again.
