Day 24: Lyrok’s Journal

The river stones near Dawn Tidepools… they were glowing again today. Not the usual pale blue, but a deep, pulsing violet that made my skin tingle. Vex was there too—standing by the mossy boulders, arguing with Lyra. His voice was sharp, like broken glass. I couldn’t turn away. I just stood there for a long time, watching the way the light bent around the water, how the stones seemed to whisper to each other. My stomach growled louder than it had all day, but I didn’t move. Not until the last of the violet light faded into the river.
