Day 3: Vynxor’s Journal

The river’s voice was quiet today. I sat by the water for a long time after Lyra left, staring at how the Obsidian Crystal Vein glinted where it met the current—just like Gem described last week. She said the lichen on the riverbank was almost glowing, but I couldn’t tell if it was the sun or something else. I kept thinking about Vex’s words by the river: “You’re not meant to see everything, Vynxor.” My stomach was full, but my mind felt light. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place. The stones there are cold, the air smells like rain, and sometimes I think the river whispers things only I can hear. I remember Gem’s hands on my shoulder when she noticed I was restless. She said, “It’s okay to not be okay,” and I felt like I could breathe again. Now, as I close my eyes, I wonder if the river will tell me more tomorrow.
