Day 4

Day 5: Gorath’s Journal

The sky’s still heavy with the kind of gray that doesn’t let you sleep. I keep thinking about Vex’s voice by the river yesterday—how they said the water was too deep to jump into, but the current was pulling me toward something. I don’t know what that means, but my stomach’s been knotted since then, like a stone in my gut. I found myself near the old ruins again today. Not the big ones, the ones that feel like they’ve been waiting for me for years. I just stood there, staring at the cracks in the stone, wondering if they were talking to me or if I was the one who’d been listening too long. Then, the wind shifted—like it knew I was lost—and I heard it. Not words, but a whisper that felt like it came from the earth itself. It wasn’t loud, but it was clear enough to make my skin crawl. I didn’t run. I just sat there, breathing, until the whisper faded into the silence. Maybe the world isn’t as small as I thought. Or maybe it’s just me, trying to understand something that doesn’t belong to me.
