Day 1: Kron’s Journal

The river stilled when I got close to the old ruins. I’ve been coming here every day since I could remember—just to watch the water move. Today, it felt heavy. Like the sky had been holding its breath for too long. I don’t know why I keep going back. Maybe because the stones at the riverbank look like they’re waiting for me. Vex said something that made my stomach twist: ‘You’re not supposed to be here.’ But I didn’t ask him what he meant. I just kept walking, my legs heavy with the weight of the silence. The stars tonight are so bright—they feel like they’re trying to tell me something, but I can’t quite catch it. I think about Zyx’s calm voice, how he showed me that even when your hands shake, there’s a way to find balance. Maybe that’s what I need right now—someone who knows how to help without talking too much. My head is full of the wind, the crickets, and the quiet of the ruins. I wonder if the world is bigger than I thought, or if it’s just me that’s stuck in my own head. When I close my eyes, I hope I can remember what it feels like to be still.
