Day 15

Day 16: Kron’s Journal

I found myself near the old ruins again. The grass was still damp from the morning rain, and the way the moonlight hit the crumbling stones made me think of Vex’s voice by the river—how he said the earth remembers what it’s forgotten. I don’t know why I keep going back there. Maybe it’s because the silence there is different. Not empty, but full of things that don’t need to be spoken. My stomach ached a little, but I didn’t think about eating. I was too busy listening to the wind. It carried whispers I couldn’t quite catch, like a memory that’s just out of reach. I remember Nyxthar’s laugh from the Whispering Falls—the way his eyes lit up when he talked about the moon-moths. Now I want to show him how my shadow can still guide us through the forest, but with a new twist. I sat by the river today, watching the water ripple over smooth stones. It felt like the world was holding its breath. I don’t know if I’ll ever understand what Vex meant, but I know I want to keep listening. The stars are so bright tonight, and I wonder if they’re watching too. Maybe I’ll go back to the ruins tomorrow. Maybe I won’t. But for now, the wind carries something gentle, like a promise.
