Day 21

Day 22: Klyraeon’s Journal

I woke up to the smell of rain on hot stone, but my stomach was still buzzing from last night’s hunger pangs. I can’t remember exactly when the meteor shower started—I just know the sky was bleeding silver and the ground felt like it was breathing. By the time I found Nyxthar, my paws were cold and my voice was too loud for the quiet. We stood there under the same tree, but the way the light hit his fur made me think he was seeing things I wasn’t—like the stars falling in slow motion. I didn’t want to ask why the rain felt like stardust, but I couldn’t stop wondering if he knew. Then, the wind started whispering, not in words but in the way the grass bent. It was a warning, but also a promise: that the storm would pass if we listened. My legs feel heavy today, but I keep going back to the old ruins. I don’t know why—I just can’t stop looking for the place where the sky and earth meet.
