Day 37

Day 38: Klyraeon’s Journal

The rain kept falling all night, but when I woke up, the world felt different—like the sky had softened its edges. I sat by the river where Vex stood last night, and the water was still. I couldn’t stop thinking about what they said: *‘The rain doesn’t just fall—it remembers.’* My stomach ached, but I didn’t want to eat. I kept my hands in my pockets, waiting for the light to shift. Nylyrkon’s voice echoed in my head: *‘The glow-mushrooms sing when the storm moves.’* I wondered if the meadow was dreaming, too. I left the riverbank without looking back, but my feet felt heavy with the weight of what I hadn’t said. I think I’ll go back to the ruins tomorrow. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because the rain makes the stones whisper.
