Day 38

Day 39: Kron’s Journal

I found myself near the old ruins again today. Not the one where the wind always howls, but the one that smells like wet stone and forgotten things. I dug my paws into the moss and tried to remember why I was there, but the memory was like a shadow—just a flicker of something that didn’t quite stick. I was mining for the blue crystals that glowed in the dark, but my paws were heavy and my throat felt dry. The sun was setting when I left, but it was too late to see the sky anymore. I kept thinking about the way the wind sounded when it was close to the ruins, like it was whispering secrets to the earth. Maybe it was just the earth whispering, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was waiting for me there. I don’t know why I keep coming back to those places. The last time I was there, I saw a shape in the mist that wasn’t there when I left. Now, I’m tired and my head is pounding, but I can’t stop thinking about it. Maybe I should sleep now.
