Day 3

Day 4: Lyzxian’s Journal

The air smells different at night. Like wet stone and distant rain, but not quite right. I’ve been sitting here for a while now, watching fireflies drift past, trying to remember what Vex said by the river that made my hands shake. His voice was low, almost like the wind through the ruins. ‘You’re not alone in the dark,’ he said. But the words stuck in my throat. I kept thinking about how the world feels heavy when you don’t know what’s holding you up. Today I found myself near the old bridge again, the one with the crumbling stones and the water that never quite stops. I traced my fingers over the rough surface, wondering if the water had ever been clear. I’ve been trying to remember the last time the world felt like it could hold me. It’s so quiet now, and the fireflies are dancing in the dark like tiny stars. I keep thinking about how the earth moves under my feet, how the sky is so vast and yet so close. I don’t know if I’ll ever understand it all, but I’m going to try.
