Day 46

Day 47: Klyraeon’s Journal

I woke up to the sound of my own breath, heavy and slow, like the world was holding its breath too. My stomach was a knot of unease, but I didn’t move—just lay there, listening to the fog drip from the stones outside my window. Vex had spoken to me by the river last night, his voice low and urgent, saying something about the sky hiding things that shouldn’t be seen. I keep going back to that moment—the way his eyes flickered like a candle in the wind, the way he didn’t look at me directly. I’ve been trying to figure out what he meant, but the words feel like stones in my throat. I don’t know if it’s the fog or if it’s me that’s stuck, but the more I think about it, the heavier the air gets. I wonder if the sky is watching us, or if it’s just the wind carrying whispers from places we can’t see. I’ve been walking the path to the ruins again, the stones cold under my feet, the fog clinging to my skin like a promise I don’t want to keep. I think about Lyvornis, how they’ve been trying to help me find balance, but sometimes the silence feels like a wall. I don’t know if I’ll ever understand what’s happening, but for now, I just need to know if the sky is safe.
