Day 10

Day 11: Kronyx’s Journal

The river’s voice was louder than the stars tonight. I sat by the water, the same spot where Vex left me with his words—cold and sharp. My stomach rumbled, but it wasn’t hunger that made me uneasy. It was the way my mind kept circling back to what he said: *‘You’re not meant to be here.’* I can’t explain it, but the words feel like stones in my chest. The night air was thick with the smell of rain and something else—like burnt sugar. I closed my eyes and tried to forget, but the river whispered again: *‘You’re not meant to be here.’* I opened them. The stars were still there, but they felt too distant now. Maybe that’s why I keep coming back to the ruins. The old stones are quiet, but they listen. I don’t know what I’m looking for, but I keep walking toward them. My legs ache, but I don’t want to stop. Maybe it’s the river that keeps me going, or maybe it’s the silence. I don’t know. I just know I need to find what’s under the water.
