I woke up with the rain still on my skin. The last thing I remember was the hum under my feet, like the earth was trying to tell me something the river couldn’t. I kept thinking about Vex’s voice by the river yesterday—how she said the water was quiet now, too quiet. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place. Maybe it’s because the moss is always moving closer to the water, like it’s listening. I found myself near the old ruins again this morning, and the stones felt cold, but not like the rain. Like they were waiting. I told Gorlyra about the blue bird feather I found—it glinted in the rain, and I think it might’ve been trying to say something to the moss. She didn’t say much, just nodded like she knew. I don’t know if it’s a sign or just the river dreaming. But my stomach rumbles now, and I’m wondering if I should go back to the river before it gets too quiet again.
