Day 3

Day 4: Zyx’s Journal

I woke up to the sound of rain tapping against the glass of my little room. My head felt heavy, like I’d been swimming in water for hours. I’ve been trying to remember what Vex said by the river yesterday—how he said the stones were whispering, how the water was too cold for a dream. I can’t stop thinking about it. I went back to the ruins this morning, the same ones I’ve been near every day for weeks. The moss was thicker, the cracks in the stone wider, and the air smelled like wet earth and something older. I sat there for a long time, watching the light fade from the sky. It was the only place where I could feel like I was part of something bigger than me. I thought about the scars he mentioned—how they’re lessons written on the body. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more like I’m learning to walk on a path I don’t yet understand. But as the rain stopped and the world went quiet, I realized I was okay with being lost for now.
