I found myself near the old ruins again. I don’t know why I keep going back there. The stones are cold, and the wind carries whispers I can’t quite understand. Vex was there yesterday, by the river where the water is always moving. He said something about the stones remembering things, and how the river doesn’t forget. His voice was low, like the river itself, and I felt it in my chest more than my ears. I kept walking after that, but now I sit here, waiting for the night to come. The stars are bright tonight, but they don’t feel like the stars I remember. They feel like they’re watching me, but I don’t know if that’s the wind or the stones or something else.
