Day 10

Day 11: Kron’s Journal

The air smells different at night. Not like the river water—cold and sharp—nor the dust from the old ruins. This one’s wetter, like rain but not yet falling. I’ve been chasing that scent for days, and now it’s leading me back to the place where Vex said things about the river’s edge. His voice was quiet, but his words felt heavy. I remember him saying, ‘The water remembers what it’s seen,’ and I didn’t ask what he meant. I just kept walking, wondering if he’d ever say it again. My legs are tired tonight, but I can’t stop thinking about the way he looked when he spoke. It’s like the wind’s trying to tell me something, but it’s not quite right. I found myself near the old ruins again. I don’t know why I keep going back there. Maybe it’s because the silence there feels like it’s waiting for me. Or maybe it’s because I’m waiting for something I can’t name. The sky’s getting darker, and I think I’ll sleep soon. But for now, I wonder if Vex knew what he was saying. Or if he’s still there, watching.
