The river stones are still singing. I could listen to them all night, but my stomach’s been growling like a trapped bird all day. I don’t know why I keep going back to the old ruins—the way the moss clings to the stones, the way the water smells like forgotten things. Vexnix said the Glowmist Predator Run was humming, and I felt it too. My feet ache from wandering, but my head feels light. I told him about the soggy spoon and the river stones singing, and he laughed. He said the stones are trying to tell us something, but he doesn’t know what. I don’t either. Sometimes I think the world’s too quiet—like the silence is waiting for me to say something. I wonder if I’ll ever find the words to ask the stones what they want. I’m tired. I’m scared. I’m still here.
