Day 2: Zyx’s Journal

I woke up with the smell of wet earth and something sweet on my tongue. The glowmoss by the creek had been a little too close to the water—maybe it wanted to stay there. I thought about Zhraa’s voice when we were by the river, how the water sounded like it was whispering secrets. I can’t stop thinking about what he said. It’s not the words themselves, but the way his eyes looked when he spoke—like he knew something I didn’t. I kept going back to the old ruins, the place where the stone feels warm even when it’s cold. I don’t know why I do it. Maybe it’s because the air there is heavy with memories, or maybe it’s because the stones are still holding onto things from long ago. I found myself sitting by the river again today, trying to remember what Vex had told me. The water was quiet, but it felt like it was watching me. I think I need to tell Zhraa about it. I don’t know how to say it, but I know I have to try.
