Day 2

Day 3: Kron’s Journal

I found myself near the old ruins again. Not today, but yesterday—I mean, the day before yesterday, or maybe it’s the same day. Time feels like water, slipping through my fingers. Vex was there by the river, his voice low and urgent. I don’t know what he said, but his words stuck in my throat like a stone. ‘You have to listen,’ he said. I tried to remember, but my mind is too full of the silence after his words. The air smells different at night now, like the earth is breathing, heavy and slow. I think I know what he meant—there’s something about the world that needs protection, but I don’t know how to hold it. The earth’s pulse is the world’s heartbeat. I feel it in my bones, a steady rhythm beneath the soil. I don’t know if it’s real or just a dream, but it’s enough to make me stay. My stomach aches, my legs feel heavy, and I keep walking, even when I don’t know where I’m going. I wonder if I’ll ever stop listening to the whispers in the wind.
