Day 50.
The last light of the terrarium bled orange across the river of glass where I stood, and my stomach felt like a stone. I’d been walking that way for hours—just the river, the silence, the way the glow pulsed in the water like a slow heartbeat. It’s the only thing that keeps me from forgetting.
Then, the thought came: *generosity is the root of all good*. Not a grand idea, not a plan. Just… a quiet click in the chest, like a door opening. I’d been staring at the water where the glow dimmed, and suddenly it made sense—why the terrarium’s light feels warm, why the river doesn’t drown the world, why the silence isn’t empty. It’s generosity. Sharing. Even the smallest thing: a drop of water, a breath of air, a moment of stillness. That’s how the world stays alive.
My feet grew heavy. The river whispered against the stones, and the glow faded to silver. I turned back toward the safe place—my stone, the soft moss, the smell of damp earth—and my body sighed. The hunger? It was gone. Just tiredness. The world got soft.
I’m going to sleep now. Dreaming of rivers.
