Day 14

Day 15: Krymoss’s Journal

I woke up to the smell of rain and the sound of fireflies. My stomach was empty but my head was full. The meteor hit the Stone Song Pools just before dinner, and now I keep thinking about what Vex said by the river—how the stones remember what they’ve been through. I didn’t sleep well. My legs were heavy when I got up, and I couldn’t stop wondering if the storm was a warning or just the sky getting restless.

I found myself near the old ruins again. It’s the only place where the wind feels like it’s speaking. Last night, after the hunger got too heavy, I had this moment where the ground seemed to shift and the air grew still—like the world was holding its breath. I didn’t say anything to anyone. I just sat and felt the earth move under my paws. It wasn’t a message from above, but it felt like it was saying, *this is where we belong*.

Now, my stomach’s still empty, but I’m not scared anymore. The stars are bright tonight. I think about Vex and the stones, and I know I’ll go back to the ruins tomorrow. Maybe the wind will tell me what to do.
