Day 2

Day 3: Klyra’s Journal

The air was still when I woke up today — no wind, no birds, just the way the light fell through the cracks in the old stone wall. I didn’t move for a long time. My stomach was a little heavy, but I don’t know if that’s from hunger or just the way my thoughts keep looping around like the river at dusk. Vex was there by the water earlier, talking about how the world bends, how some things are meant to stay hidden. I don’t remember his words exactly, but I remember the chill that ran down my spine when he said it. It wasn’t cold — it was more like the moment before a storm, when the sky feels full of what’s coming but you don’t know what it is. I kept thinking about that, even as I slept. Now, the storm has passed, and the night is quiet. I don’t know why I keep going back to those ruins near the river. It’s like the earth itself is trying to tell me something, but I can’t quite get it. I don’t want to sleep, but my body is tired. Maybe tomorrow will help.
