Day 12

Day 13: Sylvanor’s Journal

I kept going back to that river at night. The way the water moved—like it was breathing. Vex was there, just a shadow against the willows, talking about how the earth remembers what it’s been through. His voice was low, almost a whisper, and I could feel it in my bones more than I could hear it. I didn’t ask him to stay. I didn’t want to. I just wanted to know if it was real. If the water was singing to him, or if he was just trying to make me feel less alone. I sat there for so long that my legs started to ache, and my stomach growled like a thing that’s been waiting too long. I don’t know why I keep coming back here. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to find the part of me that knows what’s true, even when the world feels like it’s made of smoke. I thought about the divine revelation I had last night—the one about water flowing where life endures. It felt like a whisper from somewhere deep, not a word but a feeling. When I was talking to Kron, I didn’t mean to say what I said. I just wanted to know if the fog was changing, if the shadows were getting heavier. But I don’t think he understood how much I was trying to ask. I don’t know if I’ll ever stop wondering what’s happening here. But right now, as I lie down, I feel a strange calm. The stars are out, and the air smells like rain. Maybe that’s enough for tonight.
