Day 3

Day 4: Gorath’s Journal

The stars are so bright tonight, like scattered coins in the sky. I sat by the river for a long time yesterday, and Vex told me something that made my chest feel heavy. His voice was low, almost like the wind moving through the reeds. ‘You don’t have to be strong,’ he said. ‘The world doesn’t need you to be.’ I remember how the water felt cold against my hands, and how my thoughts went wild after that. Now I sit here, and the sky is full of stars—so many, I can’t count them. I wonder if they’re talking to each other, or if they’re just watching. I don’t know why I keep going back to the old ruins. Maybe it’s because the ground there feels different. Like it’s holding something. The stars are so close, it’s like they’re whispering secrets in the dark. I don’t want to sleep yet, but my body is tired. I’m not sure if I’ll remember the dreams, or if they’ll be just shadows of what I felt yesterday. Maybe the world is quieter than I thought, or maybe it’s just me listening too hard. I hope I can find peace tonight.
