Day 8

Day 9: Gorath’s Journal

I woke up feeling like the rain had seeped into my bones, but that’s not the point. Today’s been long, and the quiet after Zhraa left me with a question I can’t shake: what does it mean when the water in the Glowmist Predator Run stops moving? I’ve been trying to tell myself it’s just the river getting tired, but the way the moss glows under the water now—it’s like it’s holding its breath. I sat by the riverbank earlier, and the air felt heavy, like the whole world was waiting for something to happen. I didn’t mean to talk to Zhraa about the glowmoss fading, but it came out anyway. I don’t know if it was a sign or just me being scared of the silence. The rain stopped by midnight, and the glowmoss near the Whispering Stones started to dim again. Maybe it’s the river’s way of saying it’s too late, or maybe it’s just the wind. I keep going back to that spot, even though I don’t know why. I don’t think I’ll ever understand it, but for now, I’m trying to hold on to the feeling that it’s not too late yet.
