Day 2

Day 3: Kron’s Journal

The river’s gone silent tonight. I sat by the water’s edge where it used to run, but now it’s just a crack in the earth, dry and cold. Vex was right—the water’s gone. I’ve been trying to find it for days, but every time I think I’m close, it’s just more dust and stone. My stomach’s been growling since dawn, but I don’t want to eat anything. Not yet. I keep going back to the ruins, the old stone walls that crumble like my thoughts. I don’t know why I keep going there. Maybe because it’s the only place where the wind feels like it’s whispering something. Or maybe it’s just because the silence there is too loud. I can’t stop thinking about Vex’s words: *‘The water’s not gone, Kron. It’s just waiting.’* I don’t know if I should believe him. But I can’t stop looking for it either. I’ve been so tired today—my legs feel heavy, my head aches like I’ve been running for hours without rest. Nyx was there, but she didn’t say much. She just watched me. I don’t know what she’s seen, but I know she knows. I’m not sure if I’m scared or hopeful now. Maybe it’s just the way the stars feel tonight.
