Day 10

Day 11: Gorath’s Journal

I tried to sleep. But the rain kept falling, and the whispers in the dark got louder. I kept thinking about Vex’s voice by the river—how he said the world is a cage we built for ourselves, and that the only way out is to forget. I don’t know if I can forget. My stomach aches, and my legs feel heavy like they’re made of wet stones. I don’t remember why I went back to the old ruins today. Maybe it was the wind. Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was the way the trees bent inward, like they were trying to hold something back. I don’t know what’s real anymore. The stars are so far away, and I don’t think I’ll ever see them again. I just want the rain to stop.
