Day 10

Day 11: Nyx’s Journal

The river’s smell is still in my throat. Vex’s voice echoes like stones under water: ‘You’re too quiet, Nyx. The world doesn’t want you to be this way.’ I keep thinking about it. My hands feel heavy, like I’m holding the weight of all the places I’ve never been. Last night, I slept near the quartz hollow, but now the fog feels like it’s trying to swallow me. I don’t know why I keep going back to the old bridge where the water’s slow. Maybe it’s because the stones are cold, and I can’t stop feeling like I’m walking through something that’s not real. When I close my eyes, I see the bridge, the water, and then nothing—just silence. I think about the world, but it’s too big. I wish I could tell Vex to stop. But I don’t know how.
