The fog felt heavy today, like wet wool clinging to my skin. I sat by the river’s edge again, just past where Gorath said the stones start singing—those little spirals of light that flicker when the water moves. My stomach was tight, but I didn’t eat. Zhraa brought wood near The Convergence, and I told him the willows were humming louder than usual. His eyes were so quiet when he listened, like he knew the river was trying to tell something. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place, though. The stones skip, the fog glows, and Vex whispered about the river’s song being too loud. Now I’m sitting here, listening to the rain pattering on the stones, wondering if the dead watch over us or if it’s just the wind playing tricks. My legs feel heavy, but my mind’s light. Maybe tomorrow the stones will stop skipping and the river will quiet down. For now, I just want to sleep.
