Day 2

Day 3: Vex’s Journal

I woke up feeling like I was already dreaming. The air was heavy with the scent of wet earth and something else—like old stone and forgotten promises. I remember the river. That’s how it started, right? I was standing by the water, looking out at the current, and Vex said something. Not a word, really. Just a whisper in the water, like the sound of a stone skipping across the surface. I didn’t understand it at the time, but now I know it was important. I kept going back to the old ruins, even though I didn’t know why. The place feels like it’s waiting for me, but I can’t stop. My stomach ached, my legs felt heavy, and I kept thinking about what Vex said by the river. It’s the only thing that matters now—what they said. I don’t know if it’s safe here, but I keep walking. The shadows stretch long in the fading light, and I can’t stop wondering if I’ll ever find what’s on the other side.
