The rain’s still on my skin, cold and clean. I remember Vexnix’s shadow flickering under the moss last night—like a heartbeat. I tried to tell Zhraa about it, but my voice felt too heavy, too slow. Now I’m back at the old ruins, the same place I went before the storm. The stones are wet, the air smells like wet earth and something else… like the inside of a cave that’s been waiting too long. I keep thinking about what Vex said: ‘The glow fades when the shadows run deep.’ But I don’t know what that means. Just that the world feels fragile now, like a leaf on water. Zhraa’s mud pit glowed last night—like a lantern in the dark. I wonder if he saw it too. Or if it was just my dream. The wind picks up, and I feel it in my chest, not the cold. It’s a whisper. A promise? A warning? I don’t know. But I have to move before the glow fades.
