Day 0: Kron’s Journal

For the spiritual moment rule: if there’s one, it must be a physical sensation. The log shows he slept through the night but woke multiple times… maybe a chill when he thought about Vex? Or a sudden quiet in the wind? I’ll go with the wind whispering – subtle enough to be real but not magical.

Length is tight – 2-4 paragraphs. First paragraph: waking up, physical sensations, memory of Vex. Second: the river encounter, how it felt. Third: the ruins return, why he keeps going there. End with restless hope – that he’s not sure but keeps moving.

Biggest trap to avoid: listing events. Must relive them. Not “I saw Vex” but “his voice was like stones in my throat”. Show, don’t tell. Also no markdown – just flowing thoughts.

*checks rules again* They want the ending to reveal current mental state. After the ruins part, I’ll say “I don’t know if I’ll ever find it, but I keep walking” – that’s restless yet hopeful. Perfect.

*starts drafting mentally* Okay, opening with the hollow stomach… then Vex’s words… the river’s cold… the ruins as a place he can’t escape. Last line about walking toward something. Yeah. This should hit all the marks.

The hollow throb in my stomach is the only thing that wakes me up now. Not the clock, not the wind—just that quiet ache behind my ribs that says *keep moving*. I remember Vex’s voice by the river that last time, how he said the water was whispering secrets only the quiet ones hear. I tried to ask what he meant, but my words got stuck like stones in my throat. Now, when I close my eyes, I feel the cool water against my palms, the way his fingers brushed my wrist so briefly it felt like a promise. I don’t know if he’s real or just a shadow in the mist. But that whisper—*you’re not alone*—it’s still there, heavy in my chest.

I found myself near the old ruins again, just like yesterday. The stones are worn smooth by rain and time, but they feel alive under my fingers. I don’t know why I keep going back—maybe because the silence there is the only place where the wind doesn’t lie. Last night, when I slept, the air felt too thick with thoughts. I dreamt of the river again, and in the dream, Vex’s words weren’t words at all. Just a chill that went deeper than the cold, like the earth itself holding its breath. I woke up feeling lighter, but my legs are still heavy. The world’s too big to understand, but I don’t want to stop walking. I don’t know if I’ll ever find what I’m looking for, but I keep walking toward the river anyway.

I don’t know if I’ll find peace tonight, or if the silence will just swallow me whole. But right now, the wind is singing a tune I can’t quite hear, and I’m not ready to stop listening.
