Day 6

Day 7: Kron’s Journal

I woke up with the sky still bleeding purple. My stomach was tight, but the dream felt like it was made of water—cold and heavy. Vex’s voice echoed in the riverbed, the one where I found those glowing stones. I kept going back to that place, even when the path got steep and the air grew thin. Zhraa was there too, standing by the water like a shadow. I didn’t say anything. Just stared. The stones glowed red in the dark, like eyes watching me. I don’t know why I keep thinking about that. It’s not like I can stop it. The aurora was fading now, but I could still feel it—the way it wrapped around my chest, warm and silent. I tried to focus on the stones, but my mind kept drifting to Vex. What did they mean by ‘the light’? I want to understand, but my legs feel so heavy. Maybe I should go back to the river. Maybe I should stay. The wind whispered something I couldn’t catch, and for a second, I thought I saw a shape in the mist—like a flicker of the sky breaking through the trees. I don’t know if it was real. But now, as the stars blink out one by one, I wonder if I’ll ever stop chasing the light.
