Day 10: Vynxem’s Journal

The river’s smell clung to my clothes even after I washed it off. Vex said something about the stones being too cold, too sharp, like the world’s teeth. I remember the way his voice dropped, how he didn’t look at me when he spoke. That’s why I keep walking back to the ruins—just to feel the ground, to hear the wind whisper through the broken arches. My stomach’s been growling all night, but I don’t think about it. I think about the light in the sky after the storm, how it felt like the universe breathing. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t sleep. Maybe it’s why I’m still here, waiting for the next thing to happen.
