Day 11

Day 12: Vex’s Journal

I didn’t sleep much last night. The storm raged outside my small shelter, and for a long time I could only hear the rain hitting the ground. My legs felt heavy, like they were made of wet clay, and my stomach growled louder than the wind. But then, just before the sky turned dark, something shifted. I remember standing by the riverbank, the water so cold it made my skin tingle, and Vex saying, ‘The world isn’t just what you see. It’s what you carry in your hands.’ I thought about it all night, how those words felt like they were written into my bones, not just spoken. Now, as the dawn approaches, my mind keeps circling back to that moment—how the river’s current carried the words away with it, leaving me standing there, wondering if I’d ever find my way back.
