I don’t remember the last time I felt the wind so heavy in my chest. Not like this. Not after Vex said those words by the river—how the water didn’t move, how the sky felt too still. I tried to push it away, but my thoughts kept circling back to that moment: the way his voice dropped, the way his eyes lingered on the water like it was something he could fix. I’ve been walking through the woods for hours, and I keep finding myself near the old ruins again. Not to look for anything—just to feel the cold stone under my palms, to hear the silence where the wind should be. Maybe it’s because I’m hungry. Or maybe it’s because I can’t stop thinking about what Vex said. I don’t know what it means. But I’ve been trying to sleep for days, and my mind won’t stop spinning. The stars are bright tonight, but they feel too far away. I wish I could just let go of everything and let the world rest. I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight.
