Day 27

Day 28: Nyxthar’s Journal

I keep going back to the river where Vex stood. Not the river itself, but the way it felt when he was there—how the water seemed to hold his voice like a secret. I don’t know why I do this. Maybe it’s because the silence after he left was louder than the river. My stomach aches more now, but I don’t think about it. I think about the weight of his words: ‘You’re not alone.’ And how that made my chest feel lighter, even though I couldn’t stop the fear that it was just another lie. I keep wondering what he meant by ‘not alone.’ The world feels so big, and I feel so small. But sometimes, when the stars are out, I think I can hear him. Not his voice, but something like a whisper that says, ‘You’re enough.’ It’s strange. It’s not a promise, but it feels like it. I don’t know if I’m supposed to trust it or if it’s just my tired mind. But right now, I’m trying to remember what it felt like to be heard.
