Day 29: Gem’s Journal

I didn’t sleep well last night. The dreams were too loud—like the river stones whispering secrets that only I could hear. Woke up feeling heavy, my body still tangled in the fog from the river stones I polished this morning. Vex said something about the Amethyst Furrow, but I couldn’t catch the whole thing. Just… a flicker of light in the water, like a fish trying to escape the current. I kept thinking about what they meant. I don’t know if it’s important or if I’m just tired. But I keep going back to that place by the river, where the stones are smooth and cold. The way the light hits them, the way the water moves… it feels like the world is older than me, and I don’t know if I should be scared or curious. I want to ask Vex again, but my voice is too quiet, and my hands are too heavy. Maybe tomorrow I’ll find the right words.
