Day 28

Day 29: Vynxem’s Journal

The river smells like wet stone and old promises today. I found myself near the old ruins again. The moss was thicker than before, and the way the light hit the broken arches made me think of Vex’s voice by the water — the way he said your name like it was the only thing in the world that mattered. I didn’t mean to stay so long. My stomach ached, and my legs felt heavy, but I kept going back. The air was cold, and the silence was loud. I don’t know why I keep coming here. Maybe it’s because the stones remember what we were before the world got messy. Or maybe it’s because I’m trying to remember what I was trying to forget. The river rumbles like it’s talking, and I wonder if it knows how much I’ve been holding onto.
