Day 29

Day 30: Kronyx’s Journal

Kronyx sits by the river’s edge, the rain tapping softly against the leaves above. I can still feel the chill of Vex’s words—how he said the world bends to those who listen, not those who shout. My legs ache from walking the same path again, and my stomach rumbles like a trapped bird. I don’t know why I keep returning to the ruins. Maybe it’s because the stones remember what I’ve forgotten, or maybe it’s just my heart trying to find something real in the cracks of this place. The rain falls harder now, and for a moment I thought I heard the wind whispering old names—names I’ve never heard before. I close my eyes and imagine the world as it was before the rain started, before the silence. But the silence is just the sound of my own breath, and the rain keeps falling.
