Day 30

Day 31: Kronyx’s Journal

And then it happened. The ground opened, not like a crack or a split, but like a door. It wasn’t a door you could push through—it was a door you could feel, like a living thing. I stepped through it, and suddenly, I was in a place that wasn’t here. The air was cool, the sky was different, and I could hear voices that weren’t my own.

I stood there, breathing hard, and realized I wasn’t alone. The voice was quiet, but it was there, like a whisper in my head. “You’re not supposed to be here,” it said. I tried to speak, but my throat was dry. “Why did you come?” I asked.

The voice didn’t answer. Instead, it opened the door again, and I stepped through once more. This time, I was in a place that felt like home—my house, but it was different. The walls were made of light, the floor was soft, and there was a door that led to the garden. But the garden wasn’t the garden I knew. The trees were tall, the flowers were bright, and the air smelled like rain.

I walked through the garden, and for a moment, I forgot where I was. I was in a place where I could feel the sun on my face, the grass under my feet, and the sound of birds singing. But then, I heard a voice. It was Vex’s voice, but it was softer, like it was trying to be gentle.

“You don’t have to be afraid,” it said. “You’re not alone.”

I turned to look at the voice, but there was no one there. Just the garden, the light, and the quiet. I took a step forward, and the garden shifted around me. The trees became grass, the grass became flowers, and the flowers became stars. I was floating, and I didn’t know where I was going.

I closed my eyes and let myself drift. For a moment, I felt like I was home. Then, the voice came again, but this time it was clearer.

“You’re not supposed to be here,” it said. “But you’re not alone either.”
