Day 31

Day 32: Vynxem’s Journal

The river’s current felt like it was pulling me under again yesterday, and I sat by it for hours—just me and the water. Vex came up from the trees, his voice low, like he’d been waiting for me to notice. He said something about the old ruins, how they were whispering now. Not words, but a kind of knowing that settled in my chest. I didn’t ask what he meant. I just sat there, listening to the way the water moved, and I wondered if I’d ever stop chasing shadows. My stomach ached, my legs felt heavy, and I kept thinking about how the sky looked that evening—so wide, so full of light, yet it felt like it was watching me. I don’t know why I keep going back to the ruins. Maybe it’s because they’re the only place where I can feel the weight of everything without having to say it out loud.
