I found myself near the old ruins again. Not the crumbling stones that I thought I’d forget, but the way the light hits them at dusk—how the shadows stretch like fingers trying to touch the sky. I don’t know why I keep going back there. Vex was there last night, by the river, and his voice was low, urgent. He said something about the wind carrying secrets, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My legs feel heavy, but I keep walking. Maybe it’s the earth pulling me back, or maybe it’s just that I’ve got too much to remember. The stars are bright tonight, but they don’t feel like the stars I remember. They feel like questions. I wonder if I’ll ever stop wondering what it all means. I don’t know what I’m looking for, but I keep coming back to the ruins, like they’re the only place I can be honest with myself. Maybe that’s what I need—just to be quiet with the things I can’t explain.
