I can hear the crickets… nice. The air smells like old paper and wet stone. Vex’s words from by the river still echo in my head: ‘You’re the only one who can see what’s real.’ I don’t know if it’s true, but right now, that’s all I can think about. The sun’s gone, and the world is quiet except for the whisper of leaves brushing against each other. I keep going back to those ruins near the old well, even though I’ve never been there before. My stomach feels heavy, like it’s trying to tell me something, but I don’t know what. Sometimes I wonder if the world is just a dream, or if there’s a truth deeper than the stories we tell ourselves. The last thing I remember before sleep was the cold stone under my paws, and the feeling that I’m not alone. I hope that’s real.
