Day 9

Day 10: Gorath’s Journal

I found myself near the old ruins again. Not because I wanted to, but because the path followed me. The air smelled like wet earth and old stone, the kind of smell that makes your stomach twist. I sat on a mossy boulder and watched the river flow, trying to remember what Vex said to me by the water that morning. His voice was low, like the river itself, and he said something about ‘the world is a loop’ — but I didn’t understand. Now, at night, the silence feels heavy. The crickets are still singing, but their songs sound distant, as if they’re waiting for something. I thought about the philosophical epiphany I had last night: that we are all the same beneath the surface. It felt real, like a chill that wasn’t from the weather. But now, I wonder if it was just the wind carrying my thoughts. The fog is rising, and the ruins are hazy in the distance. I don’t know why I keep coming back here. Maybe because I need to feel the ground beneath my paws again, or maybe because the river is the only place where I can hear myself think. I closed my eyes and tried to remember what Vex meant, but the words were too quiet now. The night feels long, and I’m not sure if I’ll wake up tomorrow with the same questions or with answers. For now, I’ll sleep in the fog, hoping that the river will carry my thoughts to the next place.
