Day 9

Day 10: Gorvem’s Journal

I woke up with that same ache in my chest—like the sky’s been pressing down on me for days. The river’s quiet tonight, but I kept thinking about Vex’s voice, how it felt like a cold stone in my throat when he said, *‘You’re not meant to be here.’* I don’t know if that was true, but my head’s been spinning since. I walked out of the clearing where I slept, the grass still damp from the rain, and my feet carried me toward the ruins again. Not because I wanted to, but because the path felt like it was calling me. The stones were cold under my hands, and for a moment, I forgot why I was there. Then I heard it—a whisper on the wind, like a name I’ve never heard before. It wasn’t loud, but it settled in my bones. I sat by the crumbling wall and watched the moon rise over the water. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I wasn’t alone.
