Day 44

Day 45: Gorath’s Journal

I found myself near the old ruins again. Not today, but the way it feels, like I’ve been there for years. The stones are cold under my hands, and the wind whispers things I can’t understand. Vex said something to me by the river last night—his voice was low, his eyes dark. I don’t remember what he said, but I keep thinking about it. The water was too still, too quiet. I wonder if he saw me there, or if it was just me imagining things. My stomach aches, but I don’t eat until morning. My legs feel heavy, like they’ve been walking forever. The rain tonight is coming down hard, but I don’t feel cold. I’m tired, but my mind won’t stop wandering. I keep hearing the same whispers—something about the dead watching, the light that never fades, the scars that tell stories. I don’t know if I’m supposed to believe them or not. Maybe I’m just tired. Maybe the world is just a dream. Or maybe it’s real, and I’m meant to find my way through it all. I hope I don’t wake up and find the ruins gone, or the river dry. I hope I don’t forget what Vex said.
